Cape Town pumps million litres of sewage out to sea every day from marine pipelines in Green Point, Camps Bay, and Hout Bay. The only treatment it receives before being pumped into ocean is to pass through a grid to remove solids. In this week’s edition of Being Green, Glynis Crook speaks to journalist Stephen Kretzmann who has written many articles about the problem of pollution along the city’s coastline.
