In his capacity as chairperson of the Western Cape Religious Leaders Forum (WCRLF) have been providing support to victims of gang violence in Manenberg since August 2013. So during the past couple of months of Imam Rashied Omar's teaching stint at the University of Notre Dame in the US, he have been following the news about the renewed outbreak of gang violence in Manenberg from abroad with great trepidation.
