A world renowned Qatari scholar is in Cape Town this week for a series of intellectual discussions on Shariah from Tuesday 25th to Thursday 27th March 2014.  Dr Jasser Auda is being hosted by the International Peace College South Africa (IPSA) in partnership with the University of Cape Town (UCT) as part of a series called Maqasid al Shari’ah – Higher Purposes of the Shariah. Dr Auda is an academic based at the Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies in Doha and is a founding member and a member of the executive board of the International Union of Muslim Scholars.
