In Being Green this week, Glynis Crook speaks to Jason Drew, founder and CEO of AgriProtein, a waste-to-feed company. The Philippi-farm houses billions of black soldier flies which are reared on organic waste that would otherwise be dumped in landfills where it would decompose, producing the powerful greenhouse gas, methane. The larvae or maggots are then harvested and used to produce a high protein feed ingredient for farmed animals, fish and pets.
