Parents still required to pay school fees during lockdown

We have received many messages and calls from parents questioning the decision made by the Basic Education Department stating that parents are still liable to pay school fees during the national lockdown in SA due to the Covid19 virus. Earlier schools were forced to close following the surge in COVID-19 infections in the country with the department having to introduce E-learning at home during this period. The biggest concern from parents is that the arrangement could see them in a tight financial situation as some businesses closed.
