
Pressure on city to relocate homeless people back to their communities

So, the Strandfontein homeless issue is not going away anytime soon. It seems the matter has reached boiling point after some rather questions things were seen at the camp site last week. As we know, the city of cape town has relocated some 2000 people to the Strandfontein sports field, to keep them off the streets during the national lockdown, which is now extended by 2 weeks. But like the Human Rights Commission told us…and even our journalists, the conditions leaves much to be desired. We even saw some comments by residents of Strandfontein that the place looks like a concentration camp.
