So last week, our news team covered a story about a Surrey Estate family that are stuck in Thailand due to the lockdown and the closure of South Africa’s borders. The story certainly sparked a lot of interest, with some other South Africans also messaging us to speak about their ordeals being stuck abroad. As listeners would know by now, there are at least 3,600 citizens who have approached SA foreign missions seeking assistance to come back home. As far as we know, officials are busy arranging flights leaving South Africa to repatriate foreigners from here, but what’s the story with South Africans abroad?
