Now, last Tuesday, during President Cyril Ramaphosa's big announcement of R500 billion to help South Africa recover from the socio-economic impact of the corona-virus, he acknowledged that we are not just facing a health crisis but also a humanitarian one. Alongside R20bn for municipalities, he also stated that 25 thousand food parcels will be handed out to the most needy across the country, but as we've heard over the past few weeks, the parcels don’t seem to be reaching the most affected by the lockdown.
