Today, Egyptians return to the polls to elect a new president, the next milestone in a political roadmap ostensibly drawn up to restore democracy in the aftermath of the military ouster of President Mohammed Morsi. The outcome of the vote is unlikely to hold any surprises, with former Defence Minister Abdel Fattah el-Sisi widely expected to win in a landslide.
