Various medical schemes have shared the costs of
admissions for Covid-19, Medscheme for example has spent
about R14,5 million on 97 admissions related to Covid-19,
and the average cost per Covid-19 admission is R150,000.
GEMS has allocated around R900 million for Covid-19
treatments during this financial year. Dr Katlego Mothudi,
Managing Director of the BHF is on the line to speak more
broadly about these issues.
