As we experience a rise in covid 19 related deaths and deaths due to other unfortunate events, many people have come forward asking that the law on the non-recognition of Muslim marriages to be relooked. Home Affairs Minister Aaron Motsoaledi stated that no interim measures will be put in place to legalise marriages of Muslims who die due to covid 19. Now many people have come forward stating that their spouse who is the bread winner passed on leaving the empty-handed, so we thought it best to chat to an attorney to establish how important a will is especially for those who got married under Islamic laws
