In this week’s edition of Being Green, Glynis Crook speaks to the lead author of a new study which shows that polar bears could be wiped out by the end of the century if global warming continues at the current rate. Dr Péter Molnár and the team of researchers say shrinking sea ice in the Arctic Ocean has already seen some sub-populations reach their survival limit as the loss of ice forces the animals onto land and away from their food supplies for longer periods.
