PSL Fans Voice Betting Concerns

While much of the concern regarding the return of local football is focused on the title race and relegation battle, Premier Soccer League (PSL) fans have raised concerns over the bets which have already been placed on upcoming fixtures. The restart delays have left supporters confused and frustrated, as a lack of clear communication between the PSL & the South African Football Association (SAFA) continues to make headlines.
“PSL or SAFA must understand that PSL games do not only affect them but [also] those people who bet and investors and all those people. Some people have already put their money on the upcoming games and so forth, so what will happen to [them]? They don’t care about those people who are doing business. So I think this will cause confusion amongst us,” one supporter told SL Radio’s Fan Reaction Show Podcast.
SAFA have suggested that the league will resume on August 1st, with Gauteng has been confirmed as the province which will host the league’s ‘bio-bubble’ conclusion, but an official schedule has not yet been announced
