In this week’s edition of Being Green, Glynis Crook speaks to Nigel Forshaw, the regional team coordinator for the Scout programme in the Western Cape, about a project to rid their Hawequas Adventure Centre of alien vegetation. The camp, near Wellington, is used for outdoor adventure activities and environmental education. Their fynbos restoration plan requires clearing out alien species including black wattle, stinkbean and pine trees. You can find out how you can help the Scouts finance the removal of these plants by going to: https://westerncape.scouts.org.za/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2015/10/HawequasFynbosRestorationProject.pdf
