Kaizer Chiefs suffered two massive blows to their attack in their 1-1 draw with Stellenbosch FC over the weekend. In the first half, Leonardo Castro had to be subbed off for an injury concern which means he is a doubt for Thursday’s clash Mamelodi Sundowns. Castro’s replacement, and Chiefs’ top scorer, Samir Nurkovic then picked up a fourth yellow card which will see him miss out on the same match through suspension. Amakhosi fans remain optimistic, despite the loss main of their main attacking threats.
On SL Radio’s Fan Reaction Show podcast, one fan suggested that Downs coach Pitso Mosimane won’t know how to prepare for the match arguing, “The plans of Pitso are dead, because he planned for Nurkovic, he planned for Castro, so his tactics will change because he’ll never know which player Chiefs will play up front. Kambole scored his first goal, it’s a wakeup call to him. He’s gonna be in the starting line-up, it’s going to be difficult for Sundowns to defend him because the confidence of that boy is high”.
During the podcast, fans also debate Sundowns’ bubble struggles and Orlando Pirates Pirates attacking woes.
