George Bizos, the anti-apartheid campaigner and human rights lawyer who defended Nelson Mandela during the decades-long struggle for South Africa's democracy has died.
He was 92.
Bizos, who was born in 1927 in Greece, arrived in South Africa in 1941 after he and his father fled the Nazi occupation of Greece.
He later studied law and represented the famous Rivonia trialists.
On line for comment is veteran ANC member and former Minister, Barbara Hogan.
