Is there an assassination plot against the US ambassador to SA?

The Iranian government is weighing an assassination attempt against the US ambassador to South Africa, Lana Marks, according to US intelligence reports.

News of the plot comes as Iran continues to seek ways to retaliate for Trump's decision to kill top Iranian general Qassemi Soleimani.

There is escalating tension between the US and Iran since the US withdrew from a nuclear deal reached with multiple countries.
