Crime experts and community activists concerned about increased gang activity

Following the recent spate of gang violence which led to the death of 8 people in Gugulethu, many people have become concerned and worried as nothing seems to be done to address the issues which leave many innocent people killed. Townships are experiencing an upsurge in mass shootings and an increase in gang activity that has many worried especially with the festive season fast approaching. The shooting in Gugulethu comes just more than a month after six people were shot dead in Site C, Khayelitsha, in what is believed to be a gang war over the control of extortion rackets.
