Authorities say there is no ‘Ebola alert’ at our ports, following reports today of a ship being placed under Ebola quarantine in Richards Bay in the Eastern. This was also dismissed by the National Institute for Communicable Diseases. The ship had reportedly travelled from Liberia, one of the country’s hardest hit by the outbreak, and arrived at the local harbour on Saturday.
