Clashes between police and anti-government protesters continued over the weekend, outside Pakistan’s parliament, resulting in the deaths of at least three people, and injuries to 494 more. Police continued to fire tear gas and rubber bullets at hundreds of stone-throwing protesters, while thousands more remained behind the front lines outside the country’s parliament building in the capital Islamabad. This morning, anti-government protesters broke into the building of state television, PTV, in central Islamabad and cut transmissions of the broadcaster's news services in Urdu and English for 45 minutes. Protesters, led by religious leader Tahir-ul-Qadri and politician Imran Khan, have been trying to reach government buildings for the last three days.
