Safety of university students

This morning the University of Pretoria confirmed that a student had committed suicide by jumping off a building on campus, the same building that a lecturer at the university used to end his life just two months ago. In an unrelated matter, Stellenbosch university has also confirmed the robbery and rape of one of their students on campus. While the university has arranged for alternative accommodation for students as a safety precaution, the safety of students at universities need to be explored.
