
Why inflation ticked up in January

Inflation increased slightly in January to an annual rate of 3.2%. The latest print shows that inflation remains well below the mid-point of the reserve banks target band of 3% to 6%. This has sparked some hope amongst analysts that another interest rate cut could be on the cards.
