Labour unions in the public health sector in Limpopo have dismissed allegations by the head of the department, Dr Thokozile Mhlongo that their imminent strike against the implementation of circular 43 is illegal. This after Mhlongo cautioned healthcare workers during a media briefing on Monday that their salaries will be deducted if they participate as the strike is illegal. The unions indicated their determination to go ahead with the strike if the department is not withdrawing circular 43 of 2020, and circular 04 of 2021.
