SA's new Olympic kits have been pioneered by local designers for the first time

When Team South Africa lines up in their attire for the prestigious parade of athletes at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics opening ceremony in Japan next month, it will be the work of four unknown young Durban designers that will be showcased to the world.
Thanks to the creative talents of Nompumelelo Mjadu, Sandile Sikhakhane, Sipho Lushaba and Mbali Zulu, this time around athletes will be smartly kitted out and oozing "swag" most South Africans complained they lacked in the 2012 and 2016 Olympics with their ill-fitting overseas manufactured gear.
