Believe it or not, some people go to the cinema and choose to spend money on a movie that will possibly give them nightmares for a week.

Are they masochists? Maybe.

According to FinanceBuzz, a finance company, the horror genre is the most profitable when to comes to the silver screen, no matter what type of budget they had to work with.

Even in the modern age of cinema, 'Paranormal Activity', which was released in 2007, was produced with a budget of $15,000 and ended up making a massive $193 million at the box office.

While some of us might never understand the horror appeal, these freaky fans could be cashing in on their love of all things creepy-crawly.
