Trauma, What is it Really?

For many young professionals in South Africa, our political history is so much more than a ghost of the past: it is a wound unhealed. And we saw so many of those wounds burst open in the desperate expression that became known as the July 2021 Riots. And so, TSBU clinical psychologists Linda Mthenjane and Gugu Gigaba felt compelled to start the bigger conversation in their dedicated podcast: Trauma: The Silent Scream. In this first episode, Linda and Gugu start defining what trauma really is, how it manifests in our everyday lives, and how we can start the healing process.
