Load-shedding is back: Eskom announces stage 2 cuts from 5pm

Stage 2 rotational power cuts will be in place from 5pm on Monday afternoon, says embattled power utility Eskom.

Initially, Eskom said the power cuts would kick in from 9pm on Monday, but this was changed just 20 minutes later.

Spokesperson Sikonathi Mantshantsha said the cuts were due to “multiple generating unit failures in the past 24 hours”.
