The University of the Free State Kovsies secured their place in the semi-finals of the Varsity Football tournament.
Last night the Blues beat Wits 3-2 in Bloemfontein to move to the top of the table and secure their spot in the last four.
The defending champions, UJ, are also through to the knockout rounds after they beat the Vaal University of Technology 1-0 in Soweto.
UKZN caused a major upset by beating the multiple champions, Tuks, 2-1 in Pretoria.
In the final match of the round, TUT beat North-West 1-0 in Mafikeng. Kovsies can secure a home semi-final if they beat TUT in Pretoria in two weeks’ time.
