The trio investigating whether there is a need to further probe Phala Phala claims started their 30-day work on Wednesday. ATM and UDM leaders Vuyolwethu Zungula and Bantu Holomisa say Cyril Ramaphosa is unfit to be president.
Zungula says Ramaphosa is using intimidation tactics to scare those investigating the Phala Phala affair. ATM had asked parliament speaker Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula to establish a Section 89 inquiry into the theft of cash from Ramaphosa’s Phala Phala farm.
Holomisa outlined the focus of the inquiry and said Ramaphosa has been a disappointment.
The leaders say 30 days is too long for the investigation. The panelists are retired chief justice Sandile Ngcobo, retired high court judge Thokozile Masipa and advocate Mahlape Sell. If the panel finds there is a need for further investigation, Mapisa-Nqakula said an ad hoc committee will be established.
