Mkhwebane ‘held hostage’ at parliamentary inquiry

Busisiwe Mkhwebane says she is being held against her will in the section 194 committee hearing. On Tuesday the suspended public protector told the impeachment hearing her legal team would not be available to represent her at the inquiry until Monday, but the committee ruled to continue despite her grievances.
On Wednesday the committee is hearing testimony from a witness in the public protector’s office. Mkhwebane asked the committee to give reasons if it continued without her legal representatives, which it had not done.
