Tribute to John Moeti

Just as the country was coming to terms with the death of a young promising star, what a way to kick off the week with now the loss of a stalwart of the game, a legendary leader. A man who, undoubtedly will forever go down as one of the most dedicated, modest and hardworking players this country has ever produced. An Orlando Pirates legend, a Bafana Bafana legend... John Moeti was indeed a rare breed. A cut above his peers as far as discipline is concerned. Humility personified.
I can go on and on and on because hey, this is a man who wore any jersey he donned with pride and diligence. And I hope you all understand just why we always say, we give our players their flowers right here on MSW whilst they are still alive, and o can only hope this man knew how much we appreciated his enormous contribution to the beautiful game. I can only hope he felt the love even past his playing days. A sad day for South African football and we will do our best to honour the man
we all loved. A workhorse engine we all called Dungi.
