With the international break coming to an end over the next couple of days, players will be filtering back to Hotspur Way to resume training at Tottenham under a different gaffer in charge after Spurs parted company with Antonio Conte after the Italian slammed his players as "selfish" after their 3-3 draw with Southampton.
Conte departs Tottenham after 16 months in charge following an extraordinary rant against his players after they threw away a 3-1 lead at rock-bottom Southampton to cap a miserable March for the club in which they were dumped out of both the FA Cup and the Champions League to leave them without a trophy for another season stretching back to 2008.
Who will the new sheriff in charge be? Well Spurs are said to be interested in Julian Nagelsmann following his sacking by Bayern Munich.
Naglesmann's replacement by Thomas Tuchel at Bayern has paved the way for Spurs chairman Daniel Levy to try and court a manager he has admired for some time. The 35-year-old was on Levy's radar when they sacked Mauricio Pochettino and replaced him with Jose Mourinho in 2019. They also unsuccessfully attempted to replace Mourinho with the German in 2021, shortly before he joined Bayern.
