In conversation with Bongani Mahlangu, Bheki Maitse and Peter Leopeng

I tell you what, very few things are as precious and sentimental as seeing sporting veterans passing the torch to their offspring’s. Very little.
Well, legendary boxer Bongani Mahlangu is adding extra punch to the term like father like son, preparing to feature on the same bill as his offspring Bheki Maitse this Friday.
Mahlangu, with 33 bouts under his belt, has never had a sponsor since turning professional back in 2006. He shocked the boxing fraternity when he dethroned Ayabonga Sonjica at the ripe age of 42 to be crowned champion the South African junior-featherweight Champion last year. He will defend his title against Mduduzi Mzimela in the main attraction while his son engages in only his second paid contest, taking on Ontiretse Seleke one division heavier at featherweight.
