Putin arrest warrant under consideration and no mention of Phala Phala in talks between Ramaphosa and Namibian president

President Cyril Ramaphosa says the International Criminal Court's (ICC’s) arrest warrant for Vladimir Putin is under consideration and the South African delegation didn’t discuss Phala Phala with Namibian President Hage Geingob.
South Africa, as the host of this year’s Brics summit in August, had invited Russian President Putin as head of a fellow Brics member state. SA, however, is under pressure to arrest Putin over alleged atrocities in the Ukraine war after the warrant issued by the ICC.
Last month international relations minister Naledi Pandor said Russia is an old friend that supported the fight against apartheid.
South Africa has remained neutral in the war but is now between a rock and a hard place as it’s obliged to arrest Putin.
Namibian President Geingob acknowledged that the Ukraine conflict should be stopped but said outsiders can only facilitate in the Ukraine situation. Ramaphosa hosted Geingob on a state visit on Thursday to discuss diplomatic and trade relations.
The two presidents were accused plotting a cover-up regarding the theft of foreign currency at Ramaphosa’s Limpopo farm. However, they did not discuss the elephant in the room, Phala Phala, according to Ramaphosa.
