Transnet completes upgrades for manganese rail line in EL Port

In this episode, Daron Mann speaks to Transport spokesperson Khuselwa Rantjie and National African Federated Chamber of Commerce and Industry provincial chair Cwayita Zituta about Transnet’s new manganese export plan.
This week, Transnet announced that it had completed upgrades of its manganese rail line to East London from the Northern Cape. The project is expected to create about 300 jobs.
In this segment, Rantjie says health risks pertaining to manganese ore dust will be looked into holistically.
" If there are any health concerns then the relevant medication must be in place to make sure as we develop our economy we do not create challenges in terms of the sustainability of out environment," said Rantjie.
