Residents of Riverlea, west of Johannesburg, say illegal miners are terrorising the community. Protests erupted on Monday, a day after five bodies suspected to be zamas zamas were discovered by police. According to police, the killings are linked to two rival groups of illegal miners. The five men were shot dead.
