Meyiwa died from contact shot, says pathologist

Forensics pathologist Dr Johannes Steenekamp told the Pretoria high court on Tuesday that Senzo Meyiwa’s wound was consistent with a contact shot which suggested the gun was on his body when it was fired. Steenekamp, who conducted Meyiwa's postmortem, said the cause of death was consistent with a bullet wound in the chest involving the heart and lung. Five men are accused of murdering the soccer star in Vosloorus in October 2014.
