Bedrock Black Limited Release Syrah 2021
Hardship hones depth. Looking out onto the peaks
of the Langeberg Mountains these vines are
anchored in almost solid bedrock. Roots dig down
into the cracks of petrified terroir in search of
moisture and nutrients, a struggle resulting in small
grape bunches with tiny, dark berries. From these
berries, grown and matured in the harshest of soils
a rich, silky wine flows.
Tasting notes:
A Black-Red colour. The nose expresses aromas of
Cherry tobacco, dried berries, plums, leather, cigar
box and black pepper. On the palate you will experience
flavours of cranberries, coriander, dark chocolate
and bitter expresso.
Viticulture & Winemaking:
A single Vineyard Wine. This vineyard is the
eastern most vineyard on the estate with a
west facing slope. The vines are rooted in solid
bedrock and this wine spent 12 months in first fill
French Oak.
Food Pairing:
Biltong, lamb shank, oxtail, chilli, chocolate, steak
