Dream Another Dream: Ayanda Dlamini's Story

Loading player...
Ayanda Dlamini is a fellow parent, a dear friend and a former radio colleague.

With a devoted husband and 3 children in tow wherever she goes, there is a level of measured of chaos that Aya is accustomed to. The thing that has always struck me about Ayanda is something scientific literature refers to as hedonia. This terms refers to the "presence of positive emotions and the absence of negative emotions."

I cannot recall ever seeing or hearing Ayanda express negative emotions.

So I asked her about that, her upbringing in a single parent home and what she is most proud of herself for.

Key topics include:

Maintaining Emotional Boundaries
Ayanda's Public Recognition
Life Experiences and The Stories We Tell Ourselves
Lessons from the Media Industry and Parenting
"The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate" - Oprah Winfrey
You can help me tell more stories of vulnerability with perfectly weird, messy little humans just like me, by giving the podcast a 5 star review on your favourite listening platform.
