FreshSqueeze | Competition Commission warns schools not to ignore uniform guidelines

The Competition Commission has vowed to prosecute schools that fail to follow the uniform guidelines. The warning comes amid preparations for the new school year, which starts on 17 January 2024. Mpho Mashita and Complexion speak to Siyabulela Makunga, the Spokesperson for the Competition Commission of South Africa about the 2021 agreement which would see schools abandon exclusivity deals with suppliers when it comes to selling school uniform and what role parents can play in holding schools and governing bodies accountable.
