Three children were reportedly on their way home from the Mandlamasha Primary School recently when lightning struck. One of them passed away. In a separate incident 2 kids aged 12 and 11 were reportedly struck by lightning and drowned while swimming in Makgodu Village in Limpopo on the 22nd January. Mpho Mashita and Complexion are trying to figure out if there are specific reasons why a person would be hit by lightning and what one can do to try and prevent it from happening to them. They speak to Forecaster at the South African Weather Services, Lehlogonolo Thobela about this.
