GUEST: Darren Hele - Famous Brands CEO
Famous Brands, Africa’s leading branded food services franchisor maintained growth momentum with revenue increasing 8% to R8.0 billion. Despite the Group’s carefully managed cost base, operating profit decreased by 6% to R812 million and the operating profit margin declined to 10.1% (2023: 11.6%).
The operating profit margins were also impacted by input cost pressures and increases in overheads, namely electricity and water, diesel, repairs and maintenance and employee costs. To maintain attractive shareholder returns, Famous Brands paid a final dividend of 302 cents per share
