Family reasons are behind Mark Charlton’s shock decision to step down as the head coach of the Northern Cape Heat.
This comes just over a month before the start of the domestic cricket season where the Heat will once again be competing in Division 2.
Charlton’s influence at Northern Cape Cricket is undeniable and during his tenure has been nominated as the Division 2 Coach of the Year for three consecutive seasons.
Charlton said after a few good years in Kimberley it’s time to move on.
