The Graeme Watkins Project gave us their rendition of "Jingle Bells", and "Silent Night"

In 2009 Graeme burst onto the South African scene in M-Net Idols season V. Graeme pushed through to the top 3, proving to be a firm favourite amongst the viewing public. It was in early 2010, after starting up his band, The Graeme Watkins Project, that he was snapped up by the top SA Soap Opera Rhythm City. His character of “Dylan” was supposed to only make a brief appearance, but soon became a feature up until 2011.

It was around this time his band “GWP” took off with the hit song ‘Music Affair’, followed by a slew of hits dominating the charts and seeing the band traveling abroad and recording with international Producers. 2010 also saw Graeme being cast as a presenter in TV Show Vodacom Millionaires, and he has remained in this slot up until now.

Since graduating from the UCT Theatre and Performers department in 2007, Graeme has enjoyed extensive success over the past 9 years, including 11 various industry award nominations, 9 international and local commercials, and a number of appearances on top South African television shows.

In 2012 Graeme, Loyiso Bala, and Nathan Ro came together to form a top South African Swing Outfit called Swing City. 2015 saw them release their Debut album called Well Swung, and forms one of the top public and corporate groups in the country.

Well, Swung flew off the shelves in local music stores and has been featured on international Swing compilations. 2017 saw the Trio’s sophomore album “Now Listen Properly…” Burst on the scene. The album was a major success off the back of their quirky cover of “Beyond The Sea”.

The use of popular South African songs translated to the Swing Genre has endeared audiences to their more recent album. Graeme has been a firm favourite in the South African stage, screen, and media industry for well over 9 years.
