IR loses bid to prevent publication of matric results in media

The high court in Pretoria has dismissed with costs the Information Regulator's urgent application to prevent the education department publishing the 2024 matric exams results in media such as newspapers.

The regulator citing concerns about the violation of matriculants' right to privacy. Concerns the court says were not brought to its attention by pupils.
