What does Women’s Month really mean today?

As August, Women’s Month, draws to a close, it’s worth asking: what does this commemoration truly mean today?
Nearly 70 years after more than 20 000 women marched to the Union Building, too many women in our informal settlements are still walking for water, raising families in overcrowded shacks, and surviving without the basics. And yet their resilience keeps our communities alive.

On today’s Uncensored, we speak to Nora Nzuza, former deputy mayor, a trailblazer in local government, and the first woman to bring RDP houses to Nkobongo and Shayamoya. Her story is one of courage and leadership, and through her, the story of thousands of women who hold our society together.
