The Springbok and Exeter Chiefs hooker, Joseph Dweba, is locked and loaded for an emotional reunion this weekend as he prepares to face his former team, the Toyota Cheetahs, in round one of the EPCR Challenge Cup.
Dweba’s rugby journey began in Bloemfontein back in 2014, where he rose through the junior ranks before spending six seasons at the franchise. His explosive form earned him a move abroad to Bordeaux Bègles in the French Top 14, and later a homecoming to Cape Town where he played more than 50 games for the Stormers. Earlier this year he packed his bags for Devon, signing with the Exeter Chiefs.
Speaking to OFM Sport from Exeter, Dweba said the prospect of facing the side that launched his career feels profoundly meaningful.
