South Africa’s cherry industry has reached a new milestone, with production climbing to a record 3,006 tons in 2025. Once a niche crop, cherries are now appearing more consistently in local retail during the festive season, supported by expanding plantings, favourable weather conditions and growing domestic and export demand.
