: Suffering, Sovereignty, and Hope
In this Theology Tuesday episode of Theology for Everyday Life with Rocky Stevenson Pastor of Benoni Bible Church, we walk carefully through Romans 8:18–30 to answer one of life’s hardest questions: Where is God in our suffering? Drawing from the teaching of the apostle Paul, this session makes a crucial biblical distinction — God is not the author of sin or evil, yet He remains fully sovereign and lovingly at work within a broken world.
You’ll see how Scripture shows suffering as the result of mankind’s fall, not God’s cruelty, and how the Lord entered our mess through Jesus Christ to redeem and restore what sin разрушed. Rather than meaningless pain, trials become tools in God’s hands — shaping perseverance, producing hope, and conforming believers to Christ’s image.
This episode offers real comfort for real life: God is near in suffering, purposeful in trials, and faithful to finish what He has begun.
