Learning Sustainability in the Heart of the Desert
The Namib Desert Environmental Education Trust (NaDEET) is helping Namibians understand the connection between people and the environment through hands-on learning experiences.
At their centre in the NamibRand Nature Reserve, participants learn practical sustainability skills — from cooking with solar energy to conserving water and reducing waste. They also run an Urban Sustainability Centre in Swakopmund where visitors can learn how to apply sustainable practices in everyday life.
It’s proof that small changes in how we live can make a big difference for our planet.
